Greed is a wonderful, healthy thing- often times motivating people to want more out of life, and pushing them to get to it.
What people mistake for greed is lack of reason and whim-ism. A lack of reason is simply that; basically going with one's feelings and emotions rather than tried and true philosophy, and fact.
A quote I once read on the website of renowned Objectivist Dr. Michael Hurd "history is philosophy taught by example". Think about it.
Whim-ism is basically just doing things for the spur of the moment pleasure, rather than concerning oneself with long term consequences.
If you want to know why many businesses crash and burn( as well as why virtually any other bad thing happens in the world), look no further than these two core problems.
But don't blame greed and capitalism. Folks, THIS MESSAGE BOARD wouldn't exist without either one.
