Since half the people cannot tell you who Abraham Lincoln was, or when he was President? I think that if you are going to live in this country, then you need to know the History behind it. I believe that this is a huge part of the problem we have today.
You hear a lot of nonsense coming from people who claim to be, "highly educated." Well, they might be highly educated, but they know nothing about History. I do not want people leading this country who have no idea how it began, or all of it's hardships. It seems like it happens most at the college level. You do not learn History in college unless History is something you take as a minor or elective.
It seems as though if there are some people in this country who do not want us to learn a lot about the History of this country. And to me, that is disturbing. History can do a lot to complete destroy the Liberal point of view without a doubt. Truth is truth. I don't think that History should be political. But everyone should know it. Otherwise, we end up having the, "blind leading the blind" scenario.
Some people are History majors. Good for them!
