18 year old student? I know under the law, the answer is yes.

But in our state, a woman in her 20s was convicted for having an fling with a guy old enough to be in Iraq, and it WOULDN'T have been a crime at all is he was not her student, even if he was a student in another school

This seems to have gone too far
 
From what one of my teachers told me, its a federal offense until the day after that student graduates. Its some kind of an agreement teacher's have to comply with.
 
Yes, she is a person who considerable authority over the student.

Should (male) teachers then also be able to take advantage of their much younger female students?

If that were the case, what would prevent a perverted old "professor" to use his classrooms as his personal harem in exchange for favorable grades?
