I was answering another question, and this one popped into my head.
I'm interested in the responses.
Keep in mind that this is not an attack on homosexuals, and that there is no need for anyone to defend themselves.
In this modern age, genetic development is paving the way to significant medical possibilities.
There is no proof that homosexuality is genetic (though there is strong supporting evidence). However, for the purposes of this question I would ask that we accept it as a hypothetical rule.
Should your child be screened for genetic traits or disorders and be determined homosexual, should you have the right to change its sexuality? Would you? Why or why not?
For those of you who will inevitably say that your child should be as it is, what about genetic heart conditions or physical malformations that can be corrected early in development? Not that I'm saying that homosexuality is bad, just that some natural states can be.
Again, keep in mind that this is not an attack on anyone. I am simply curious as to the responses, perhaps I can achieve more perspective.
