WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama left the White House on Friday for a 10-day vacation, taking with him the beloved family dog ...

Obama left the White House's South Lawn by Marine helicopter early in the afternoon for the presidential retreat at Maryland's Camp David. He and his family then head on Sunday morning to Massachusetts' Martha's Vineyard, where they will stay at a private 28-acre estate that rents for $35,000 a week. They are expected to keep mostly to themselves.

Isn't it great that he announces ANOTHER $2 trillion in debt, then goes off to his $35,000 a week taxpayer paid vacation rental... And, don't forget the $50,000 an hour Air Force One plus all the support airplanes and equipment...

Hope he turned down the White House thermostat.

Where ever he can get prospective. We do not want to be picky. He needs the rest. No one complained about other presidents. He Is president,He deserves to be well rested and ready to lead. I say good for him,Wished it was me. By the way He's paying not you. I do not expect best answer just expressing my feelings. Have a nice day.

Who cares?

It's funny when conservatards attack over little crap like this, when their guy started a war over lies, where tens of thousands die.

Aaannd again for comparison let's just mention that during a time when our troops were fighting and dying in two wars that he personally started, George W. Bush spent over 400 days on vacation, away from Washington.

More so in fact than any other President in history.

So...there's the yardstick. Let us know when Obama is even a 1/4 of the way along it. Then we'll talk.

I'm not sure if I can think of another president that has taken as many vacations to expensive places as Obama has in just seven months, even Bush JR who took a number of "vacations" went to HIS ranch in Texas most of the time.

I would actually gain a speck of respect for that man if he would publicly donate his personal $35K of vacation money to pay the medical bills of one person in the process of facing a bankruptcy filing because of medical bills. If it's such a rampant problem and nothing contributes to all these bankruptcies but medical bills (as if), he could make a real statement with that. So much for leading by example, huh?

Obama certainly deserves a vacation from his ordeal and where he takes it is his business. You gotta figure his first six months turned out about opposite what he had intended, and the fight over the role of the federal government is just getting started.
