Shot but saved by a badge - What film?

This is bugging the hell out of me. Me and my friend were discussing a film where someone is shot, but it turns out the bullet was stopped by a (police, I think) badge they were wearing. I can't remember what film it was, or it may have even been a tv show, but it's not:

Blackadder
Back To The Future
CSI

as apparently it happened in those shows too.

Thanks!

I remember something similar happening in the film Spymaker, which was about the life of Ian Flemming (fictionalised, albeit) In this, he was shot, but the bullet was stopped by a small lead horse he carried in his pocket (a childhood toy, I think)

Also, there was DCI Gene Hunt who miraculously stopped a bullet by way of a cunningly placed hip-flask! What were the odRAB?

That is going to drive me CRACKERS!!! I have the image in my head of a bullet lodged in a police bullet, but I can't think which film it is!!!

Well, I remember Ned Flanders was saved a few times, when Fat Tony's henchmen were trying to take out Homer, by deflecting shots because he had 'The Good Book' on him and also a cross, if that helps. :D

Probably doesn't though, and you've got me wracking my brains too!!

Sin City!

Dwight is apparently killed by a shot to the heart from the IRA hitmen, but then you realise he's actually alive when they find the badge he lifted from Jackie Boy earlier... with the bullet lodged in it.

Amirite? ;)

When I left my "This is going to drive me mad comment" last night, I was thinking Sin City, but decided not to at the last minute. Don't have time to look at the DVD, but I'm 95% this is what happens.

Well done BlitZace!!!

That's the one I first thought of when i read this thread. He's given this religious old man's coat and is saved by the bible in the pocket.

It may happen in Sin City, but the OP seems to have seen it in something else too. I'm the same, I know I've seen it in something (something familiar that I've watched a few times) but I just can't grasp what it is.

Problem Child?

John Ritter is shot in the chest but his father's old lucky prune bit the bullet instead as it was in his breast pocket all along.

Not a badge, but another example of somehting luckily being in the way when a bullet is making a bee-line for your heart.

Paddy :D
