Years ago in junior high we read a short futuristic story about a set of parents who kept worrying about a test their child had to take at a certain age - but all through the story they kept giving him wrong answers anytime he asked things like "How far away is the moon?"
He went to take the test on his given day ... and the last paragraph of the story has a government agent showing up at the parents' door informing them that their son scored too high - would they like to have him buried or cremated?
Does anyone know the author and title? I want to say it was called "The Test" but I can't find it anywhere.
