Like many people these days really care about music anyway. And you can just as easily skip through a CD.
I can listen to an album on my computer or my iPod just as easily as I can listen to it on record or CD. And accompanying visual representation, full concentration? Oh please, how often do you listen to an album while looking at the sleeve or the CD case? Do you never put on music just to play in the background? I highly doubt anyone here always puts on an album with the intention of paying complete attention to it.
Besides that, whose to say artists won't start making albums differently, then?
That's a horrible analogy. Unless it's a painting or some other piece of art that's made to be viewed that way, then art can be viewed in whatever medium you see fit. Just like you can listen to music however you want.
