*** Shock ... Horror ***

Even if your opinion is wrong and doesn't just go against the grain, it goes against fact?

Someone earlier said Emo wasn't a genre, but a trend. Emo isn't an opinion, it's a fact that Emo is a genre (and one that goes deeper than what's on MTV).

OK I shall respond to those , as far as Bob Dylan goes I think he`s written some incredible songs , I just happen to think they are few & far between for someone who`s been around for almost 50 years.

I still stick to what I think of Led Zep , Don`t get me wrong I like the band but for someone who had possibly the best drummer & guitarist ever & someone like John Paul Jones who was arguably the most talented in the band as far as musical arranging & the nuraber of instruments he could play , I just think they could have made music that was a lot more groundbreaking & original than what they did.

I wish Led Zeppelin was just a pure Grade A blues band, instead of being considered the pivotal ape in the evolutionary chart of heavy metal. There's no denying the talent, but I hope I never have to hear Stairway to Heaven for the rest of my life.

It's not a matter of not agreeing with someone. It's a matter of you being ignorant to an entire genre of music just because you heard a band on MTV call themselves an emo band.

Throat vocals are throat vocals.
Anyone who says hardcore punk and 90's emo is boring imo is just plain wrong.
People who think noise rock is crap have no imagination.
People who think noise rock is the best thing ever don't have ears.
People who love over produce albums have weird expectations for music
I love tape hiss and poorly produced albums.

thats never going to happen, most of what could be said in this topic has already been said, people are just creating arguments now for enjoyment and to show off.
another things that bothers me about music today though....seeing green days mugs on every TV channel and every music magazine.

Because I love music...why else!

So I happen to believe that 99% of all music is crap.
Look at the charts as an example.
How much of that do you really like?

How much of all the music out there, do you, or anyone else truthfully believe to be wonderful?
We all filter our music to suit our taste.

I've had so many arguments with people who like to say 'Nirvana aren't Punk, they are Grunge.' Grunge is to Punk what Grime is to Rap. Very different but also very similar. And Nirvana doesn't fit into the Grunge category. THEY ARE PUNK I TELL YA!

I seriously doubt that... Though they did have impact.

However i'm not gonna get too deep into defending RATM, because even though i am a rabid fan, i fear that by doing so it will just lead into a tiresome argument about Nirvana or prog... Though i'm not quite sure how exactly.

I just pretend that they're not part of a cause.
reasons I go to their shows:
I can get stoned, drunk, lose consciousness, and I'm still not risking getting raped
chics have the best drugs
i can get amazing sex tips
and it's just fun.

And if you leave late enough, it's like a pron store. where you look, touch and not buy.
That sorta contradicts my first reason but it's all consentual so . .:)

We always got that when I worked at HMV. Within two hours of Elliott Smith's death being announced every store was sent an email telling them to buy in additional stock, and sure enough, it sold.

And, strange but true, in the week surrounding an anniversary of Kurt Cobain's death, there is ALWAYS an increase in sales of Nirvana.
