I also thought this episode was much better then the first. Minai has a badass style, I hope thay show more of her. I'd have to disagree about the characters being flat, I'm already seeing some nice character development.

Summary - Shikabane Hime is about a girl, Makina Hoshino, who hunts down shikabane (living corpses/undead). The twist being Makina is a corpse as well and neeRAB to kill 108 shikabane in order to be sent to heaven.

This is another one thats high on my list to watch, its suppose to have a lot of gore for people who like that, hopefully it wont be a let down.
 
I cant wait for the first episode. This is one of the series I've been looking forward to the most. She looks tight with that machine gun, I've only seen her with the sword so far.

[Edit] The first episode was pretty good, but I was expecting a little better.
 
Please do. You exclaimed there was some "nice character development". If you can't pinpoint it then how can you claim this? I'm saying this because I disagree. There was no character development. We got some background info, which was pretty flimsy, and we had some events where Makina and Ouri met and dealt with a few situations. That's not character development.
 
Episode 3 is yet another story that only seems to have merit due to the appearance of a "bad guy" at the end. Somethings up and I bet we'll learn why or how in the next episodes. Not enough action for my tastes.
 
The first episode started slowly but got better as it went on, Makina is pretty hot for a girl and looks even hotter holding two guns, im hoping the Shikabane she comes up against will gradually get stronger so we see her tested.
 
Im still with it and enjoying it too, i pretty much liked it from the start but its been getting even better recently, it was licensed after about 3 episodes i think which is why the subs stopped for a while.
 
Well, the episode starts from it left off last time. There is a new group that does not like the Kougon cult and is out to get them. They have been successfully identified in the picture taken of them.

Then to my surprise Makina reacts to the group in a furious hateful way as though she had some personal grudge against them. That made me think they did something to her.

The explanation of Keisei of his past with Makina's family was very cute! I loved! It explained both emotions and situation at that time. It also told me reasons of why Keisei is contracted with Makina and pays special attention to her. Apparently Makina's shrine is connected with Kougon cult.Because of that it was a target by the very same group who was taken on the picture.

It was very funny for Keisei to show Ouri that big anime doll.For a minute I though of it as one of those you can have sex with but I was wrong. The next scene made me very angry! Ouri helps a little girl with glasses with her green ball.The problem is that the girl curses him!The reason for this is that she from the same group who wants to get rid of the Kougon cult.

We meet another Youkai (demon) that is gaseous apparently as one of his forms and has a bead necklace around his neck.Strange I though that was to be worn only by monks in the beliefs of Shintoism or Buddhism.

Things start to get serious. The orphanage that Ouri was raised in is being targeted by that evil group. They are sending the gaseous demon and the priest betrayer. Keisei setups spiritual traps, which is a good defense.Before I knew it Ouri gets a certain curse upon his arm and body.He cannot move at all when is he under the control of the curse and further more the girl with the glasses is actually a Shikabane under contract.

So before I knew it it switches to Keisei and Makina taking on the priest betrayer with the gaseous demon. Very nice flashback of Keisei with Mibu and the priest betrayer when they were young.

What followed made me HAVE SUCH A JAW DROP that I could still not believe how STUPID Ouri was not to resist it more than what he displayed.THIS SUCKS! KEISEI!!!!!!!! NO!!!!!!!!!!! OURI YOU! YOU! AHO BAKA!

1.Makina is so cute when she was a baby as well as little girl.
2.I hate this **** ass shikabane for doing such a dirty ass trick on Ouri!
3.The betrayer priest is back!
4.The new gaseous demon!
5.Ouri with Mibu and the priest betrayer when he was still with Kougon.
6.Ouri why the hell DID YOU NOT RESIST the curse aho baka!

This series is becoming a quick favorite of mine, at the start i thought it had potential and its gone from strength to strength since then, it was nice to find out how Makina and Keisei were contracted together in episode 11 and why there bond was so special, since Makina has seen the group of Corpses who killed her and her family she has that evil look in her eyes, a look of revenge although to me she doesn't seem strong enough at the moment to take it.
 
I hope Ori gets contracted to a shikabane in season 2. I think that would be awsome. I was hoping they would contract him with Minai, but it didnt happen. Which sucks cause she was awsome and her and Ori had great chemistry. I was sad when she died.
 
Yeah i was hoping he would be contracted with Minai too, whoever it may be he will have to have a strong bond with them, maybe the girl who keeps annoying Makina.
