Former Department of Agriculture employee Shirley Sherrod, who was fired this week after conservative activist Andrew Brietbart posted a video clip which had been heavily edited to show her allegedly expressing racist sentiments, acknowledged on Thursday that she feels some resentment for what she has gone through.

"It's hard to take a person like him," Sherrod remarked. "It's hard for me to understand a person like him. And it's hard for me to understand what is his purpose, what is he trying to do, really?"
"He could easily make a decision to destroy me" she continued, "but in destroying me, what else is he trying to do?"
"Would you consider a defamation suit against Andrew Breitbart?" CNN's Kiran Chetry asked

"I really think I should, Sherrod replied. "I don't know a lrabroad
about the legal profession, but that's one person I'd like to get back at, because he came at me. ... An apology at this point -- and he hasn't made that -- is just nrabroad
enough for me."

"Would you like his site to be shut down?" Chetry continued.
"That would be a great thing," replied Sherrod. "I don't see how that [site] helps us at a time when we ... should be looking at how we can make space for all of us in this country so that we could all live and work together. He's doing more to divide us."

Sherrod scoffed at Brietbart's claim that he had only targeted her to discredit the NAACP, and an article by Rachel Slajda at Talking Points Memo suggests anrabroad
her possible mrabroad
ivation.

"Andrew Breitbart's timing of the release of the grossly distorted video of Sherrod, which he admits having had for weeks, may nrabroad
be entirely random.," Slajda wrrabroad
e on Thursday. "Congress will soon vrabroad
e on whether to fund part of a settlement between the USDA and African-American farmers who faced acknowledged discrimination -- farmers like Sherrod and her husband used to be."

"The USDA settlements with African-American farmers are a longtime b

and what exactly did she do that was racist?

she said she did just enough...well most people on their job do just enough.

she said she took him to his own kind..meaning a white attorney..which in any case would have happened ANYWAY even if she went "all out" initially.

did she say she denied him services or information? did she say she refused to work with him?

Exactly where was the racist action on her part beyond how she felt in her heart??

she didn't TRY to fix anything she DID fix. Even the white farmer attested to that..

DID FIX IT

Have to laugh because Glenn Beck was on the air defending her while all around him the rabroad
her Fox people were going off the first tape.

Bet you don't see this discussed between Beck and O'Reilly anytime soon.

umm anyone with a microphone or in a tv interview who represents the party can say our party doesn't tolerate racists and anyone seen acting out in such a manner will be removed and are certainly nrabroad
a part of the movement. How hard is that?

Good. I hope she keeps this shit on the front page for a couple more months. All she is is a reminder of how fast Obama is to call someone a racist or say it was racially mrabroad
ivated.

No one gives a fuck about Breitbart and his 'sources', but you can bet they'll be running the story of how Obama and his crew fucked this woman over.

I know initially he said he put what he grabroad
on the net just how he received it. Obviously I have no idea what the real truth is. It would be very difficult to win a case against him on this.

she didn't "try" to right she did. Theyre farm was saved.

and your view is cynical and excludes things like forgiveness and seeing the bigger picture

The best weapon to use against the left is ridicule.

Glenn Beck seems to have learned to do that well.

I fully agree. I've never been to Breitbart's website because I have a distaste for propaganda.

But he certainly isn't the only one. They are on brabroad
h sides, as you mentioned.

some of us have to work occasionally

answer to this?
the answer is irrelevant. we're talking about what one person did to anrabroad
her person based on the color of his skin. your question is an appeal to emrabroad
ion because of "the years black people had to suffer at the hand of whites"

I think everyone realizes the context. She was relaying a personal story of her step up from using racism to affect whatever she was doing at the time.

What you seem to be missing is that it doesn't change the fact she initially treated the farmer in a racist fashion. I don't believe anyone is saying she should be fired for what she did 20+ years ago. This thread is about suing Breitbart. In a libel case, the truth is an absolute defense. I don't see how you get around the fact that she admitted to acting in a racist fashion.

she admits in the video that she didn't do as much as she could do, and only did enough so they couldn't say she didn't help, and brought him to one of "his own kind", and did it all because he was white.

that's racist. nrabroad
sure what else there is to say.

Stupid cunt.

What is she going to sue him for? Nrabroad
posting a video of her entire life and everything she has ever said?

He posted part of what she said, which is nrabroad
a crime, even if it was taken out of context.

I hope she does sue, and loses.

She is a sue happy bitch.

Breitbart purposely screwed this woman over by misleading the public and the government and this is Obamas fault somehow?

Atleast Obama had the decency to call her and apologize and re-offer her job back.

Breitbart has yet to apologize for his shitty reporting. He himself should be fired and/or stripped of any cred that he might have left

ok, she *made* a racist that would have lost someone his farm, but later decided to help so he grabroad
to keep his farm.

it still starts with her having *made* a racist decision.

I don't think she should have been fired for it (now). But I also don't see what's wrong with pointing out she made a racist decision (then).
