Sharp stabbing pain in my throat?

Help help. It just started like a flare up. It's really bad just in this one spot in my throat. It feels like you know if water goes down the wrong way when swallowing. It feels like that even though I didn't drink anything. It started suddenly about 10 minutes ago subsided a LITTLE. now another flare up same as the first. It's really bad, this cough drop is helping a little but it's not fully taking it away. Also withthe flare up comes a hot flash. What's going on
