sharp pains in my right ovary?

i get sharp pains in my right ovary when i am NOT close or on my period. what could it be? they arent agonizing pains, but they dont feel good. im on birth control (ortho evra) so could it be my ovary reacting to not being able to release an egg? ive been on this birth control for 3 months, and these pains in my right ovary only started when i began this birth control. is it something serious i should go to the doctor for? what may it be?
p.s. im not getting any other pains, illness, or irregular periods. just sharp pains in my right ovary every now and then.
 
I've experienced the pains that you're talking about and it's cysts on my ovary and estrogen can cause the pain.Which birth control pills do have in them. My Dr says the cysts that I have are normal ones, but you may have to be put on a birth control pill that doesn't contain estrogen. However, I would have it checked out to ensure it's not a cyst that would require treatment and at the very least, to have your birth control changed if that is what your Dr finds that could be the actual cause.
