I had my ACL surgery on May 5th, 2010. I had the hamstring graph so i knew it was gonna take a little longer to heal then usual.
I'm a freshman this year in college and i play soccer. I missed the first season of soccer due to my knee. My therapist back at home didn't really help me gain that much of movement with my knee or so i thought..
I go to College and start jogging for the first time in August. All i was released to do was jog and so i did that. My knee had a little discomfort, but not so bad. So i kept running.
October came around and i was finally released to play soccer. But the season ended before i could even practice...I started to just shoot the ball, dribble with it, nothing big..then i noticed a sharp pain in my knee..Something i never felt before in my knee.
Next day, i felt this pain again when i tried running. It bothered me so much that i had to stop running..I still kept trying everyday to push through this sharp pain, but still nothing..i lifted weights; and it hurt ALOT; so i stopped doing that.
I was only able to run on the machine because thats what caused less discomfort.
I took a break for about a month or two..
Now, im beginning to attempt to run outside on grass or concrete but the pain came back.
What is the reason for this??? I'm having sharp pains only when i put pressure on my left knee (bad knee), when i run outside and lift weight.
Should i get an MRI or is this normal? Helpp please..because this is worrying me that maybe i didn't heal my knee correctly.
Any answers pleaseeee.
