I have been starting getting this sharp pain on my lower back back in december and don't know why. it happens if i move my body in a certain way it comes and it kind of takes the wind out of me and my body kind of freezes up. So what could this be, i never had this before.

Nerves do not have to be pinched.
Nerves can be pressed the same as acupressure.
Had mysterious back pain going down leg for a week for no reason at all. Well there was a reason.
Discovered on my own (No Doc at all) that the thick + shaped crotch seam on defective denim pants pressed on tailbone nerve causing severe back pain.
Threw the denims out and the pain is totally gone.

It's a muscle getting pinched in the spine. Hurts like heck, doesn't it? You can get rid of the pain by freeing up your back muscles and here's how to do that:
Back:
(do from a sitting position)
Place your left hand on your left leg next to your body. Place your right hand over your left shoulder, fingers over the back and the palm in the front and firmly pull down on them and hold. After 30 seconds slowly lower your body forward and to the outside of your left leg, keeping your left arm fairly straight as you do. When you reach your lap remain there for another 10 seconds, release the pressure but rest there for another 30 seconds. Then reverse your hand positions and do your right side.
For best results relax your body first by taking a deep breath and exhaling then remain this relaxed.

Before doing any home remedies to ease the pain, you should get it checked out by a neurologist if the pain continues. You could possibly have a ruptured or bulging disk. If this has been going on since December, I wouldn't think it's a muscle problem. I say this because I've had several back surgeries, ultimately ending with getting 4 screws and a cage put into my back, so I know a little about back problems and referred pain you can get with it. Does the pain ever travel down your legs or do your legs ever feel numb? If so, that could be related to a disk problem or nerve irritation in the back. My suggestion would be to see a specialist since it's been ongoing for several months.
