Sharp pain above stomach and pregnant what's wrong?

I'm 10 weeks pregnant and I have a pain above my stomach it's like right where my rib cage meets between my breasts. I'm laying down an I feel a bit better but when I sit up or stand it feels like really bad cramps and it hurts. What's wrong?

Nothing is that high up yet, so it may be heart burn or gas.

Sounds like it could possibly be round ligament pain. That is caused by your body stretching to accommodate the baby. But I am not a doctor. Call your doctor.

I just had the same pain friday night exact same spot only it was kinda unbearable and my stomache would get hard every time i felt the pain and i found out they were contractions! wierd..but be very careful you are in the early stage of pregnancy! its not time! and it could posibly be bad indigestion or if your tummy isnt hardening then could be braxton hicks contractions. everyones body is very different..if the pain consists take a visit to the er and tell them whats going on..when i called my ob i told her about the pain i was having and she thought it was my gaulbladder n the only thing that made it clear it was contractions was my stomache hardening up.
