sharp 903 vs other phones.

so we already know that the sharp 903 has better camera then the other 3 megapix phones, such as samsung p850 and SE k800.

Besides that, is the sharp phone better then these 2 other phones overall? in terms of technology and extra bells and whistles? what the difference between the sharp and other phones?

I'm having trouble deciding what I would want to get. I like the sharp camera, but I like the looks of the p850 better, as it's camera is probably good enough....

in terms of technology, which one has more features?
 
What? The Sharp 903 has a better cam then the K800? Got to be jking me. LOL Well out of all the 3MP phones, I personally like the SE K800 and Nokia N80 the most.
 
903sh beats the crap out of all the other phones in camera including the k800\p850\n73\n93 is really old news now. and its been broven million times all over the net ... he is not kidding u

in terms of technology packed phones ,nothing can match the 903sh till now all around the world except few phones like the N93 ( although it loses in the camera and screen quality and the 3d speakers ) or the samsung i-750 ( very good 2 mp camera and no 3G )

yes its my phone but trust me i am not biased talking about the unique technologies will take a while

Comparing the k800\p850\903sh :-

1- the screen :- the 903 is the best .... Mobile Advanced Super-V LCD using the technology AQUOS that applied in TVs .... its like reading from a piece of paper .. will never lose visabilty from any angel or in the direct sun and its 2.4 inch ( p850 with 2.2 inch and k800 with 2.0 inch )

2- the camera :- 5 glass lenses with CCD sensor and optical zoom !!!!

ofcourse the 903sh hands down pics or videos ofcourse with the 2x optical zoom and very professional option i didnt see in any other phone witch is the manual focus beside the autofocus... also supporting the SD-video recording witch means record ur video take out the memory card and plug it in the DVD-player and watch ur movies on the TV

3- sound and music :- sharp supports yamaha chip with 128 channels ..... supported by dual speakers for the 3d sound effects streo sounds ... trust me if u find the headphones converter to use any 3.5 headphone with it .... the quality is really amazing and can match if not beat the walkman series from SE .

4- barcode and text scanner :- ... yup read the barcods out of the products and scan the text ie bus. card

5- the Toshiba 3D graphics accelarator for 3d java games.

6- TV-out .... maybe this is not unique cuz the samsung P850 has it

if u think about it ..... most of these technologies the other brands like SE\nokia\samsung is still catching u with it although the 903 is like a year old and still can fully match them

thats the hardware talk.... for the software.... if it wasnt for the guys working hard to make it easier for the sharp 903 owners to install games and get the best out of the phone .. owning this phone will be living hell for the heavy heavy users who loves the games and all the tones bla bla bla cuz of the restrictions it has....
dont get me wrong sharp UI is really good , very fast and really easy with uniq things like using an SWF as a wallpaper or the videotone ( ofcourse p850 and k800 catched up with that )

why chossing the k800 over both phones ? well the k800 support the themes and the easy way to add games and also it has radio and very powerfull flash.... but not matchable to the screen camera video sounds,,,, etc

the P850 is really a classy phone ... i love it but it is not a match to the 903 except becuz of the external screen ... maybe the z710 will be a match in someway

another thing i dont like about the p850 is the bloody damn samsung software ... no multitasking not easy way to install games forget about the themes or any customization except the color of the skin bad mp3 player cant be playes in the background or minimized and so on,

i am waitting for the 904sh to be unlocked.... its the only replacement for the 903 IMO
 
rami_d15, could you tell us how's the sharps' UI? I personally have never used (not even seen, actually) a sharp phone, but I heard that the UI is not as good as the SE's. How's the speed, media player, file manager, etc? If they are on par with the k800's the 903 might be my new phone

it is good actually and really close to the SE ... i preffer the SE just for the sake of themes thats it

speed is better.... media player is really good and u can choose sound controll between ( normal bass surround and sorround base )

actually when i think about it ... most of the SE improvments to the newest models is from the sharp UI !!!! for example the small clock on the menu in the K800 ! the file manager in the W900 and the memorycard\phone memry is typical sharp and so on.
 
the barcode scanner is for scanning those japanese scare barcodes they put on reciepts and other stuff in Japan which would then spit out a msg on the screen, for me it was a website when i scanned the OIOI department store barcode on the reciept. It can also scan normal barcodes, and it gives you a #.

So it is really useful? It could be say if you wanted your friend to pick you up a shirt, cause he has some sort of discount, so you could scan the barcode ahead of time and send it to him. He will then know which shirt your talking about.

But really i used it cause i wanted to show off. LOL
 
Also, from experiance, i used the 903 for a month, and i can say it was a crazy phone. But one thing you should know, depending on which firmware you use, you can use mp3's as ringtones which would be Euro Firmware, meanwhile if its the Japanese Firmware, then you have to go through a bunch of steps to get a mp3-like ringtone.

Also im sure on the japanese firmware you can remove the carrier name to make the wallpaper look better. But not 100% sure.
 
Theres a way to remove the carrier name on Euro firmware too. Mine has it removed but I don't know the exact steps since I got the 903sh through a trade. The Jap firmware does have the transparent menu bar at the bottom of the screen so you can get the full effect of your wallpaper.
