The Shins were alright, not really my thing but I can see myself enjoying them when in the right mood.

Tom Waits initially scared the shit out of me. The Misery of the World song? Really, really frightening. But then he grew on me a little, still a bit skeptical but I'm sure we'll get there, I did like some of the songs.

Ok no Quicksand then they were part of the early 90s movement right there with Fugazi. I think you'll like Q and not U they're close to stuff like AITA, SounRAB of Animals Fighting and all that popular stuff but imo way better.
