Shangri-La Talkback (SPOILERS)

So, this may be Gonzo's last big show. Given it's level of quality, however, it may be the show to resurrect the studio.

The first episode is kind of confusing and a bit heavy on exposition, but at the same time very appealing. The world makes sense, the animation is gorgeous, and a pink haired anarchist girl with a boomerang that blows stuff up is the main character? How could I not want to watch more?

Yeah, VERY confusing. And a bit predictable if you know what I mean, but I do see a lot of potential in it. Especially with the ending of episode 1. I mean, those spears (or something like spears ) just came right the heck out of nowhere. I gotta say, that's some cliffhanger.

Oh yeah, one more thing
"MEN!!!"

I was fairly optimistic about Shangri-la, but was disappointed with the first episode. The backgrounRAB and character designs were nice, but the show tried to establish too many characters at once (and most of them were awfully stereotypical...the transsexual character was almost erabarassingly unfunny) which made the overall pacing really awkward and just messy. The plot feels poorly-executed because of it, and the heavy exposition didn't help either. Kuniko could possibly turn out to be a cool character but I don't know if I want to keep watching this show.

Second episode is up. More interesting than the first, still confusing, but the character interactions are becoming more enjoyable and the action was very good.
