shampoo poo pooo pooo! ?

when you use a shampoo, would you have to blowdry your hair to make it work? like if you have like a special shampoo for your special needs. like when for example herbal essences hello hydration which im about to use now, would i have to blowdry my hair to actually work or can it just airdry? if both, which ones better?
 
I don't see why you would need to blowdry it because that would further dry your hair thus creating the opposite effect you are trying to acheive on your hair.
