Shakiness inside

I have an arrhythmia with my heart and sinus tachycardia. However my heart does not beat fast all the time, I have dealt with this for over 10 years and it comes & goes. In the past 2 months I've been in & out of the ER 3 times. My heart always would 'flip' or 'beat fast' but only would feel it for a few seconds, maybe a minute and it'd go away. I don't know what has happened lately, but it seems to happen constantly and for a long period of time. Now, I feel this constant shakiness inside my chest, I take my pulse & it's normal, but what is this shakiness I feel? My family doctor gave me Cymbalta for depression/anxiety and I had a bad reaction to that, hot flashes. I don't know know what to do about this shakiness feeling inside my chest, it feels like my heart is fluttering (and eventhough it does) it's not happening all the time, but this shakiness feeling inside IS all the time. Help.

-I just want this shakiness to stop. I have even been given Xanax but hasn't helped either, also I take a medicine Atenolol for my heart rate, but I don't like to medicate to begin with.

I've heard some people on the boards here say they have shakiness inside and alot of them say it is perimenopause/menopause. You may want to consider that. Hormone changes cause alot of weird things. I am going through peri but haven't had the shakiness, not yet anyway. But it wouldn't suprise me if I got that too. Hang in there. Try not to be frightened.

You may be hyperventilating and don't realize it.....called hidden hyperventilation.

No, doctors do not seem to recognize this condition. I finally found a specialist that recognized this in me at first glance. This was after 10 years of other doctors having no idea what my problem was.

You might try rebreathing in a paper sack 5 minutes at at time and see if that helps. If it does then this may be your problem.

I am a hidden hyperventilator and used the sack 5 minutes every hour while awake for about 3 months in order to get things settled down and breathing back on track.
