Episode 26 - "Uncle Albert Alert"
Original Airdate - March 15, 2008

Uncle Albert finally alerts Shaggy and Scooby that he's been working undercover for Phibes for the past two years, but Robi's transmissions shuts out before he can reveal who he is. Shaggy and Scooby must go undercover inside Phibes' lair to locate him. Meanwhile, Phibes himself realizes that he has a mole, and suspects anyone and everyone.

Comments?

Okay, the first thing I'm wondering about is whether or not this was the final ep of the series. I thought the season would last until May Now that Shagg and Scoob discovered Uncle Albert and defeated Dr. Phibes, what more can happen? I guess they'll just have to go back to solving mysteries with the gang. I have to admit all the years they have been working with Velma really paid off. It was smart of them to discover Albert because of his peanut allergy. I didn't see where they found the mole on his calf though. It was also funny when #2 pointed out that 'Doctor Trebla' backwards was 'Albert Rotcod.' Lol. Could you imagine if he was called 'Drofelggahs Trebla.' Anyway, if anyone has more info on whether or not they're showing any new episodes and if so what's going to happen next, let me know.

I really had fun with this episode. Dr.Phibes was the most evil we ever saw of him. I think if we do get more episodes will be seeing Dr.Phibes working alone. They did kind of leave it off to where it could get more episodes, with Dr.Phibes saying "Next time you see me I'll be more evil than ever" I sure hope we get more episodes or at least a direct to DVD movie for the show like they do with Scooby-Doo movies that would be great. The one character that really improved the most on the show was Shaggy, he was smart/cunning/brave all of those things he never was in any of the Scooby-Doo series. I mean did you see the way Shaggy was able to climbe on Dr.Phibes rocket like that, he did it without thinking for a sec and he thought up how to get back down. Seriously the best Shaggy moment ever, but yah I really do hope we get another season or a movie at least as said before. If we do get another season maybe they could add another villain on the side along with the more evil Dr.Phibes :D
Also yes it was very funny how it was agent 2 who pointed that out to Dr.Phibes.

This clearly smacked of "Last Episode." With the exception of Phibes getting away (sort of) they didn't really leave much open ended. I would love to see a final episode where they confront him, now working alone, and send him to some sort of underground top secret prison facility. Or a third season where he has a new secret base, new henchmen, and the entire Scooby gang had to defeat him once and for all. But it seems like it was the ever lovin' end.

Of course, I kinda figured out Trebla's intentions the moment I saw the badge. But they real;ly seemed to have gone off on a high note with the series. Really seems like it should have been a 2 parter, though.

Well if it is in fact the last episode of the series. Maybe the least they could do is give us a direct to DVD movie to really finish off the series. As you said show Shaggy and Scooby throwing the more evil Dr.Phibes in jail once and for all. And see Dr.Phibes work alone. But I do hope this isn't the end :(

Hmmm. #%$#^//!!! 'm' key. Anyway, I thought I posted around 9:30 or something like that, I've noticed somebody changed my original message to add an image and the episode description, so you might have posted before my original post was updated.

Yeah. I noticed that too. I could see a possibility of Phibes with new henchmen or something like that.

Yeah, if the show were to progress they might need new villians or something like that. Also, now that Uncle Albert's with them they can't receive 'emergency messages' anymore. They might have to rely on Wade of 'Kim Possible' fame to give them new assignments. Lol. Plus, what are Shaggy and Scooby going to do now? Just stay with Uncle Albert for a while or go back to solving mysteries with the gang? In all honesty, rather than having this show go on, I'd prefer to see some new seasons of 'What's New, Scooby-Doo?' Especially, if it was how they left it before with the characters going back to their original designs, Casey Kasem returning to voice Shaggy. Or maybe they could combine the two series. I could see an episode of WNSD where Shaggy and Scooby talk to the gang about their experiences in Shaggleford Manor or better yet an episode where the gang is solving a mystery as usual and the villian ends up being Dr. Phibes. Though I guess there already was an episode of 'Get a Clue' where that happened. Anyway, I'm just brainstorming here.

The next Scooby series could be the gang working for Uncle Albert, who gives them their assignments on a more world spanning basis. Only now, Albert's supplying them with technology/super scooby snacks to help them out.

I'd love it they rehashed the 13 Ghosts of Scooby Doo idea to fit that mold, only without Scrappy or Flim Flam in the mix.

From the episode's tone (and seeing it's "Episode 26"----i.e., the 13th episode of this season), it seems clear that it's meant to serve as a series finale (if not renewed somehow for a third season, or given a direct-to-video movie finale). Agree with the others that if the series finale scenario's the case, at least it went off on a high note.

Comments:

- I'd assume if it's a series finale, Shag and Scoob would probably go back to working with the gang as usual ("status quo" and such). Would assume reruns of this show will wind up on Cartoon Network next fall (in light of the 4KidsTV-takeover)...

- Agree Phibes seemed rather sinister-toned toward the end of that episode.

- Wonder what the gang would make of hearing all of what Shag and Scoob did during this series:

VELMA: "Let me get this straight---you ate a pile of food filling up the Grand Canyon, shrank to microscopic size, *and* traveled through time?"

SHAGGY: "Like, yeah... that, and the food at Uncle Albert's place was terrific!"

SCOOBY: "Ruh-huh...." (licks lips)

VELMA: "I'm not sure if I should be more frightened by the fact you actually didn't chicken out *or* the idea of the two of you having had access to something as experimental as time-travel..."

FRED: "The Grand Canyon was full of *food*?! No wonder my parents canceled their second honeymoon trip to there."

DAPHNE: "Whatever---just explain to me why we weren't invited to that Phibes character's 'beautiful people' get-together..."

;-)

- I noticed the "Scooby Doo" spinoff comic never had any stories (IIRC) that take place in the "Get a Clue" setting---the characters are pretty much shown in their original series or "What's New Scooby Doo" incarnations (their clothes switching back-and-forth from original-series clothes to the "What's New" wardrobes).

I kind of like this idea, they could be like secret agents. I wouldn't mind seeing a team up between Shaggy and Fred to take down Dr.Phibes. Well any who as said before if it is the series finale I at least want a direct to DVD movie to really finish it off. But it would be nice to see it get a third season. Add in a new villain, it could team up with Dr.Phibes some times.

I've only seen one episode this season (I gave away my TV so I no longer own one) but I hope this is not the end. Unfortunately with the way things are going with the Warner cartoons it just may as well be. :(
