Episode 18 - "The Many Faces of Evil"

Original Airdate - November 3, 2007

Comments?

New episode of Shaggy and Scooby-Doo Get a Clue aired today. I was suprised last night when I saw that a new episode was airing today, luckly I saw that last night and recored it this morning. It was a very cool/funny episode. Shaggy and Scooby were very tired do to Dr.Phibes attacking them 24/7 with his clones. It was neat seeing them this tired on missions, and Robies tearing things apart was very funny. I think this episode leads to the episode where Shaggy/Scooby/Phibes take a vacation, don't know if its next weeks episode or not but I hope so.

Another really weird one. All I can say. Just really really weird as far as plots go. Scooby eating the grand canyon full of Jello. Now that just... wow... I can't even describe it.

I really wish that the "Evil Phibes" thing would have affected the plot differently. Like how he's actually pure evil, and therefore a worse villain than Phibes. I could see that in another episode. Somehow he takes control and Phibes has been dethrowned. And Evil Phibes plans are more well thought out and ruthlessly deranged.

Yeah, was weird to see Shag and Scoob manage to eat the Grand Canyon full of Jello---knew they were gluttons, but *yikes*.

Not much else to say about this episode otherwise, though. Thought with all that chaos/how tired they were they'd wind up calling in help from the gang (Fred, Daphne, Velma), or something. (Wonder what their world's superheroes, the Blue Falcon or Earth-Scooby's Batman, would make of Dr. Phibes, or if they ever went up against him in the past...).

Well we've seen them eat a lot, so its no suprise that they can eat that much jello LOL. I laughed so hard that they ate that much LOL And couldn't move hardly. Poor guy's, that clown Phibes really did some thing to them, I'd like for him to come back and make things harder for them HA. Ask for Fred/Velma/Daphny what could they do? Why pull them out of a mystory for some thing they might not be able to help with? Any ways I'd like a team up between Batman/Shaggy and Scooby agianst Phibes that wouldn't be half bad to see. And they've teamed up before in the Scooby-Doo movies and since there on the same channle, it might be possible :D
Ask for Evil Phibes I'd like to see him return as well, have Shaggy/Scooby/Phibes take him down in different ways that would be an intresting season finale for season two if the writers did that. I found it cool how they were so tired in this episode, they found out the hard way that Dr.Phibes can in fact be a pest LOL.

You mean Dr. Phibes isn't pure evil? I sort of wonder about that. I know Drew Lipsky became Dr. Drakken because back in college people laughed at his Bebebot invention and he wanted to prove his genius. Is there a story like that about the roots of Dr. Phibes?

This season's a lot more tied together than Season 1 was. It's like every episode of S2 had led into the next so far as opposed to S1's (minus the premiere and finale) ability to shuffle the episodes in any random order.

Why do I get the feeling that Uncle Albert's going to have a heart attack when he sees the MASSIVE destruction to his home when the threat of Phibes has ended?

This episode was fun; it was great seeing the different sides to Phibes' personality. :) I'd say my favourite of the clones was Pirate Phibes, followed by Evil Phibes. The latter strikes me as a cross between Dr. Phibes and a serious version of Dr. Evil, which is highly appropriate considering that Eric Radomski once described Dr. Phibes as being "Colonel Klink plus Dr. Evil divided by Strangelove".

Here's what I have for the Kids' WB! listings for the rest of November:

Nov. 10 - Cruisin' For A Bruisin' :D
Nov. 17 - Zoinksman
Nov. 24 - Inside Job

We did get a reason for Phibes' prosthetic hand in Lightning Strikes Twice: he loses his real hand in an electromagnetic energy experiment gone wrong. The apparent aim of which was to make him immortal (so we see that he's been at this goal for quite some time). Phibes comments that "for years I have suffered alone, with no sympathy from my fellow man". All of which are possibilities for why he turned to villainy.

I really hope that Uncle Albert didn't leave *all* of his money to Shaggy, and that he put some of it aside to cover the repairs he will need to have done. :p I really wonder why he left Robi active knowing that the robot is so destructive.

I think Uncle Albert exerts more control over Robi, or knows how to direct him to get things done. We don't even know much about Albert, or even if treats Robi like a close friend like Shaggy & Scooby do.
