Episode 15 - "Almost Purr-fect"
Original Airdate - September 29, 2007

Dr. Phibes infiltrates Shaggy and Scooby's mansion in his new cat guise while our heroes hold a dog show. Robi even enters his home-made mechanical dog, Sparky, into the show.

I'm watching it right now, and already I can't stop laughing at Sparky, hehe.

I really like the style of animating for this show-- it's hilarious.

According to the ad at the end of the show, Sparky might become a regular. I'm not too sure about that. I'm still trying to get used to Robi. Lol.

I liked the ep in general. Though I have to admit they have used that concept fairly often. I'm referring to the concept of Scooby being jealous of someone (Phibes as the kitten in this case) who in the end turns out as the villian. Because it happened in the comics, in a "Pup Named Scooby-Doo" and in "What's New, Scooby-Doo?" Though adding other elements to the plot gave it an interesting twist. Good message too:

Shaggy and Scooby, best friends forever.

Of course, they'll have to change the password now that Dr. Phibes knows it.

BTW, now I see the resemblence between Uncle Albert and Dr. Trebla. I guess I'll have to keep watching for more clues of how he's actually helping Shagg and Scoob.

Wow, for a comic-relief main villain, Phibes was dangerous when he used his cat-powers against Shaggy and Scooby in the climax of the episode.

An amusing episode, even if I'm also not sure about seeing Sparky as a regular...

My two bits:

- As noted above, I too was recalling during this episode the "Pup" episode where Shag and Scoob have an argument against each other for the whole episode...

- This is the first time since "13 Ghosts" I recall seeing another talking dog (that isn't related to Scooby or, per the direct-to-video movie, a space alien in disguise) appear---in this case, the French poodle, who had a few amusing lines (liked that he called Shaggy "hippie boy" too).

- A robot creating on its own a pet robot... wonder what Uncle Albert would make of that...

-B.

I thought this was much better than last week's premiere. Consistently funny, good plot, and practically every character had their time to shine. I'm also glad that Dr. Phibes escaped with the nano technology at the end. Halfway through, I feared that Phibes was going to fail since, like one of the above posters mentioned, he is pretty much used as comic relief, so it was cool to see him succeed and the plot advancing.

I really hope Sparky is in more episodes. I couldn't get over how dumb that robot dog was. I was cracking up whenever he was on screen.

"Why's he called Sparky?"

"Because his wiring is not properly grounded"

Despite the new designs (Not loving the black dot eyes), this is quickly becoming one of my favorite Scooby series. I wish the gang would show up more often, though. I'd love to see them interact with Shag and Scooby's new surroundings beyond their appearance last season.
