Note from JShaggy: This is a bit late getting posted (been hammered with other things at the moment), but here is this month's Anime of the Month already in progress.

[beginning transmission]

GREETINGS EARTH!!

Keroro: We have invaded your precious AotM for the month of Noveraber to begin our first steps in conquering this planet and all of its inhabitants. There shall be no mercy for those who try to oppose us in our plans for world domination. And now for your readable pleasure, here's a synopsis of Part 1 of the first season of our story:

http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/releases.php?id=14838

Keroro: YOU IDIOT!! WHAT THE HECK IS THIS?!

Kululu: You said that you wanted us to post up a synopsis of our story, but this was all that Funimation supplied us with at the moment. Kukukukukukukuku!

Keroro: But ...... that makes me look like I'm incompetent. Couldn't you have altered some of the synopsis to make me look badass.

Giroro: Hey, I'm the only badass around here. Now can we get this done and over with already. I don't want to spend another minute babbling to these worthless beings.

JShaggy (whom is tied up and gagged at the moment): *muffled voice* Hey, get me out of here. You can't do this to me.

Giroro: Quiet, human! [Zaps JShaggy]

Keroro: Sorry about that. *ahem* Now then, humans. Discuss away about our glorious regime, keeping in mind that if you're to give away any of our secrets, you must place them in spoiler tags like this:

This is a spoiler, humans!
We order you to rate our series as well, as this information is key to our master plan to enslave you all. And now, if you'll excuse me, I have another Gundam to build and add to my endless army of soldiers.

Wow, I was just in another thread talking about this, so I guess I'll just move what I just said here.

So, I just got and watched the first few eps of part two. Granted, I usually enjoy Funi's added comedy in this show. But right at the start of episode 14, we get this little gem:

"I told you, I'm not you're mommy; you're just mine until we get the ransom."

Ah, Stockholm syndrome. Simply comedic genius.

Most of the added jokes work with the images on-screen or the subject matter, like the Gundam refs and all that. The most annoying jokes, however, are the ones that don't mesh with anything happening, especially when they're standing around smiling and talking about some abnormal thing. That's why I liked Bobobo with it's wacky images and ad-lib corabined, but hated Duel Masters for the opposite reason: jokes with straight faces.

I actually like the liberties that this dub takes. I think of it more as a Bo-bobo more than Shin-Chan since with Bo-bobo, I at least feel like that the character's personalities are in tact and it's closer to the story.

Also, this slowly became one of my favorite comedies, it does have a cartoony feel to it animation and I like the designs of the frogs, the humor makes me laugh, and I like the characters. So hard for me to choose but I would choose Giroro, Keroro or Kululu as a 3 way tie for my favorite characters from this series.

I'm not the biggest fan of the anime. It loses alot of the original comics bite due to being targetted at a younger age group. Further, the Gundam refs are overdone. In the manga, Keroro is basically alone in his hobby and hence it's a clear distraction to his mission. The anime, coming from Bandai/Sunrise, instead does more to promote Gundam. For me, the Gundam jokes were funny because they were sprinkled in (example- Keroro justifying that buying 'Char Custom' kits isn't buying the same kit twice). Sticking Gundam in everywhere and making other merabers of the platoon fans of it kills the joke and just makes the show a cheap way to push Gunpla on unwitting kiRAB.
