ONE QUESTION THOUGH... I'VE BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH BATTERY LIFE. HOW LONG DOES YOUR 6620 LAST (STANDBY AND TALKTIME) AND ARE THERE WAYS OF CONSERVING AND EXTENDING THE BATTERY LIFE?

I actually have two questions about the above. I have Sexy Pocker 2004 installed on my phone, but I don't know have to get it off to back it up or anything. I paid for a bunch of games and would like to make a copy in case my phone gets reset or if I have to send it in for warranty.

2nd, I have had really bad battery life on my 6620. I am only on the 3rd or 4th charge cycle, but I am lucky if I get a day out of it. One day I didn't make a single call and only used the browser to download maybe 20 games. That killed the battery.
 
If you have FExplorer or SeleQ, just go to where ever you installed the game (C or E), and go to System ->MIDlets and select the game. It will most likely show up as some number, so you'll have to check each one. Once you find it, copy the jar to where ever you want it, (as long as it's not in the system folder) and then pull it out with PC Suite.

If the app is installed on your MMC and you have a memory card reader, you can do this from your PC. Just make sure you check "show hidden files and folders" from the Folder Options in Windows Explorer.
 
OK, well I found all of my MIDlets but I don't know how to tell which is which. Also if I backup the JAR file, how do I install it later on?
 
You have to manually look inside each folder until you find the one you're looking for. Then you should see the .jar file there along with the .jad and several other files.

You install it like you would any other app. Just send it to the phone (bluetooth, IR, or even email), and it will install automatically when you open the file.
 
Hey trekker and hops, I figured out how to use the MENU screen (by holding down that weird S symbol) and cleared all the apps that were on... my question is... does that mean that the programs were still running even if it was not on the screen?

Yes larrysmurf, just like taskmanager in Windows, holding down the menu button shows what is running in the background. As you already know, pressing 'C' ends the program. If you press the end key while in a program, it simply puts the program in the background.

Blazers4ever what I meant is that half of the games are labeled "d.jar". Obviously if they are all labeled just "d" then I can't tell which game they are. Now I just realized that I can get the game info from the jad file. My question is, should I keep the JAD file too?
 
No, there are no icons that would indicate what game it is. both the JAR & JAD file have an icon that resembles an archive icon. But I was able to figure out each game from the JAD and made a copy of the JAR. Problem now is that I have 5 games that were SIS files. Is it possible to make a backup of these?

By the way, I can start a new thread if you guys would prefer that I didn't highjack this thead.
 
Hello everyone,

This is my first post on the board and I have a question that I hope someone can help me with. I apologize if I seem overly ignorant, lazy or annoying in regards to the information that I am seeking, but I have been unable to find anything to resolve this issue.

I was just wondering if it is possible to play games that are in the J2ME format, such as Sexy Poker 2004 or 2006, on a Windows-based PC running XP Professional? Are there any sort of emulators or programs that I am just overlooking? I don't mean to sound like a selfish jerk, but my new cell phone doesn't support either of the games and I think that they might be fun. I would appreciate any positive input. Thank you for your time.

you can get a cell phone emulator to play these from java.com , you need the j2me SDK, basically its a development kit, used to make software in j2me, but it includes a phone emulator to run any jad/jar files you may have.
