Sexual reference in The Flintstones?

Hi again. I really wanted to find out more about this, so I emailed Earl Kress. I had heard Mr. Kress's commentary on the Flintstones DVD. For those who don't know, Mr. Kress is an animation historian and writer, you can see his website credits here: http://mynameisearlkress.com/credits/

I emailed him this:

"Dear Mr. Kress,

I am a Flintstones fan and enjoyed your commentary on the DVD set. There is across the internet a claim that a very obscene exchange was found in an original episode of The Flintstones. Here is one thread about it:

I know there were plenty of adult themes on The Flintstones, but I highly doubt this is what the internet folks are reading it as. I suspect it's a 1960s joke that is no longer understood. Could you shed any light one way or the other, either by posting on this thread or emailing me back and allowing me to post your response there?"

Well, Mr. Kress was kind enough to email me back. Note I didn't tell him my username here on the board, so imagine my surprise when he brought it up! Here is his response:

"I looked at the thread and I agree with the poster named 88 Fingers. It's another reference to his height. The only other explanation is the one that several other people gave, which is that it's just a bad joke on Barney's part. But I can assure you that in no way was he referring to anything sexual as some people have guessed, even though the show was originally meant for adults.

Best,
Earl"

I'd also emailed Scott Shaw, another of the commentators for the Flintstones DVD. I'll let you know if he responds, as well.
