I have had back pain sense i was about 18-19 years old, from an old lifting injury. I was told years ago i had a inflamed disc and had physical therapy at that time. Off and on ive either gone to the gym, stretched, heated, iced, most PT, ect. Recently last week i was at the gym, with my lower back pain, prob not a good idea, but this week, maybe because of that the lower back pain has been worse. Along with that, i have horrible pain in my thighs, knee's, calves, and worse part, ankles, especially on the top of the foot where that tendon is. Its beginging to be hard to walk, even after my heat/ice and stretches. The doc told me to get an MRI on my lower back this coming week, anything i can do for now, and should i be worried? I am only 26, with all this pain, ive become nautious and dizzy. Both of my legs are like this by the way, any advise would help greatly. Thank you :-)

You may have herniated a disc at the gym. The pain you have running down your legs is from something in your lower back pressing on your sciatic nerve. An MRI will be able to show that. I am going through something similar to you, and I am your age, well, 27. Get an MRI and don't go back to the gym for awhile! Try ice, and try ibuprofen if it doesn't upset your stomach.

Thanks Megss, appreciate your response. I have been taking hydrocodone, which i hate to take, but only about 1 time a day if that at all, when the pain is bad. I stretched earlier, heating and ice, MRI is next week, i hope its nothing serious. I hope your condition gets better too :-)

Yes I have been taking hydrocodone as well for the past week and a half. I pretty much have to take it every night or else I toss and turn in bed with pain. Nothing else works! Good luck!

Thank you. Yea that is not good, im in the same boat, its hard to deal with it without something to help.. i wish we had the tech to replace spinal corRAB, heh.
