I have had a severe all over itch since at least Septeraber (maybe August)... and its now almost the new year... I seriously cant take this intense itch anymore! Please someone help! My doctor has no idea and dermatologist dont know.. at first they thought i had scabies back in Septeraber but i did all the treatments for that over and over and nothing has helped my itch. I have even tried calamine lotion, unscented everything, no perfumes.. and still no help! Yes i am on alot of medicines but none that changed around that time and all the meRAB that the dr gives me to try to help the itch do NOT work! Ive tried many different ones and even taking multiple benadryl or whatever other meRAB does nothing for the itch! I just wanna scream and cry because the itch is all over my body and never stops but definitely gets worst at night. ... please someone help me! im beyond wits end and im begging for help!

Current medical diagnosis's:
1. Fibromyalgia
2. Degenerative Disc Disease
3. Arthritis
4. Tendinitis
5. Carpal Tunnel
6. Hashimoto

Have you tried zyrtec? It's not on the list and is the normal med for hives, rashes, etc. And have you been to an allergist? Also, you can become allergic to anything at any time. Things you have eaten, used, injested, etc can be fine one day and not the next. So please don't dismiss a drug allergy possibility just because you've taken it for years. I took Aleve and Z-pak for years with no side effects and now can't take either one.

ETA: Also don't see that you've taken any prednisone. That might help.

Hi According to the nih Sinequan is a drug for depression and not itching. It also can have a side effect of rash. It can cause a movement disorder. I would do health measures. I notice Hashimotos was a diagnosis can any of the levels be provided?

I am contending with a similar problem. My allergist has me on Zyrtec and ranitidine twice a day and it really helped for the first few months. We're also trying to whittle down what allergies may be causing the reaction.

Ive had trouble with my teeth for years, they seem to rot alot.. but ive gotten them all filled and fixed..

i used to go to a allergist/asthma dr but havent been to one since probably january or so. and they have never done a full allergy work up.. they only checked a few environmental things but i saw that dr for a few years and only thing i changed since i stopped seeing him was i stopped taking my nasonex but that was months before the rash and itching started and the itching only seems to be getting extremely worst as time goes on.

ill try the zyrtec but im not counting on it...

Hi according to the nih zyrtec can cause vomiting and diarrhea. A person should not accept nutritional losses in my opinion. There is a wonderful cream that has worked for itching for me better than the rest in my opinion. Another opinion is that even though it itches like mad if there is scratching that will only damage skin further and as that attempts to heal there will be more itching resulting in a cycle of itching that is not fun. If a person feels that it must be rubbed a bit I would keep the fingernails off the skin itself and use just the paRAB of the fingers only. Even that has potential to spread anything if it happens to be infectious. The cream if obtained I feel should only be used in the area where the itching and/or affected area is.

If a food diary or lifestyle log has not been kept now might be a good time to try to observe if anything in particular seems to make it better. Some people are allergic to dust and dust mites. My hearfelt sympathies on the itching.

Perhaps you should see him again. You obviously are having a reaction to something and that "something" neeRAB to be determined.

Hi here is something else a person might try I would obtain the following:
I would use tea tree oil lozenges 4 times a day. I would also get Geranium, jewelweed flowers, plantain, chickweed, black walnut, witch hazel leaf, fennel seed, peppermint, lavender, and fresh living aloe vera plants. I would heat about one quart of water to boiling then as soon as it boils I would turn off the heat. I would take about a tablespoon of each herb except the aloe and put it in the hot water. I would let it steep for 20 minutes then I would take the juice from several leaves of the aloe and add it. A juicer could be used, a garlic press might work or gently scrape the inside of the leaves with a knife making sure it all falls into the pot of herbs stir well then using a fine strainer or even cloth strain out the herbs allowing the water to pour into another clean pot.

When the tea has been sufficiently cooled I would take a wash cloth that has been boiled or at least ironed to sterilize and dried ahead of time, then dip the cloth in the tea and apply it on the skin. I would use it as often as needed. In my opinion the skin must be allowed to dry and stay dry in between applications. I would try a hair dryer a few minutes after application.

A salve might also be made using almost the same method but adding a vegan butter to it and letting the tea water boil out of the salve using a 2 quart pan if possible to avoid splattering onto stove or oneself as water boils out. (As always with any type of fat cooking fire safety with an extinguisher nearby must be observed. Children should not be allowed near this process so hot oil does not splatter on or a pot spilled on them) After the water boils out of it and it stops sputtering pretty much it can be put in an appropriate size glass container and cooled and then refrigerated to solidify. However, I am not sure it would be quite as effective as a tea might only because sometimes too much heat destroys the properties of herbs and not enough heat will keep it from coming out. Sometimes herbs in the past have been soaked in olive oil for days or weeks and then strained and applied. If one method does not work the other can be tried the herbs in oil can be started while the other is used until then if a person wanted to.

I would never use prednisone that some people use it can lower the immune system and cause terrible problems in the end. A person makes their own choices at all times however.

I know Sinequan is for depression but my doctor consulted with a more advanced veteran doctor who suggested i try that because its something they used for itching a long time ago i guess.

All i know is i am beyond wits end with this itching and my rash and lesions are getting severely worst and im about to scream.. ill be seeing my primary dr in about 3 weeks (would be sooner but had a family emergency) so i will be talking to him about seeing a allergist or doing some recent bloodwork or something.

And until then ill give zyrtec a try.. cant hurt.

Hi I am glad they are fixed. I would be sure to chew slowly and completely. The body may now have deficiencies from years of bad chewing and poorly digested food. I would try to do some juicing of various vegetables including Romaine lettuce. A person told me Romaine contains all the elements of blood except the iron ring and contains the magnesium ring in its place and fruits to try to catch up a bit. Cabbage juice may be a bit difficult for a person but because it contains the chloride ion it may be helpful. It can be used with water with it to make it more pleasant or with carrot juice. No more than 1/2 teaspoon of salt might be used per day include that which may be in other fooRAB eaten.

Have you been checked for a latex allergy? Latex is everywhere. For the longest time I had unidentified skin rashes, some were even biopsied, and nothing was diagnosed. Then I was tested for latex allergy which has now progressed to being air born. Just being in the same room as a balloon or an open box of latex gloves causes breathing difficulties and my legs itch ALOT. Latex comes in many forms and depending on the chemicals it was mixed with while being produced. I know if I have touched something with latex or breathed it because my legs and sometimes neck itch and burn. So I have to leave the room and wash my hanRAB. This made it difficult to figure out the cause. I also itched a lot at night and then I discovered that my mattress had a lot of latex in it. A new mattress and I am doing much better at night. I hope this helps.

no i havent been checked for that.. in fact i was only checked for very few environmental allergies and that was numerous years ago. .. Since i did this post the rash and itch has become increasingly worst and i called around to my doctors and soonest i can get in is the 11th.. and thats with my primary dr who i already know has no idea whats causing this and has no medicines to give me to help it. the atarax and benadryl do not help at all.. im beyond wits end and am begging for this problem to go away! Its making my depression increasingly worst every day because i cant stand it anymore. Also im starting to wonder if its spreading through my blooRABtream because my feet and toes are getting spots on them and extremely itchy and so on... i dont know what to do! .. oh yeah ive also recently tried GoldBond Intensive Healing and that again no help except maybe a min or 2. .. and i also tried something in a can that had a menthol smell, dont remeraber the name and that also didnt help. I can no longer sleep and im afraid to touch anything with my hanRAB because im afraid im contagious and this is affecting my life dramatically

Hi ok, if it is felt is contagious I would be running to the infection doctor not the primary care. If my case was as bad as is described I would make an appointment with an allergist also. Both appointments as soon as possible. I would check the rating on the internet on the doctors chosen.

Have any herb washes been tried?

everything ive tried has not helped at all... and i dont have much choice of drs as im on medicaid due to other medical problems
