I've been taking doctor prescribes Vyvanse for over a year now for my severe ADHD. I weigh about 110 Ibs and I took 50 mg. Over a time period of a few weeks, after a year of taking the same dosage, I noticed my medicine had stopped working. So I decided it would be harmless to open up one of my other pills and pour about 10 mg of extra Vyvanse into my regular dose, I know that doctors don't want you to do that, but I knew it wouldnt kill me and Im not addicted so I figured it wouldn't hurt. My ADHD is so hard to live with that I felt like I couldn't deal with my ADHD brain feeling like it was unmedicated any longer. I believe I got up to about 80 mg which is still a healthy dose for someone of my age and size, but not doctor prescribed. Since VYvanse is so expensive and I'm not prescribed 80 mg I knew I needed to force myself to go back down to 50 mg. My question is, if I go from 80 mg back down to 50 mg will the 50 mg dosage stop working? Have I built up a tolerance to that dosage after taking 80 mg?
