several tiny white balls inside the fish i cooked?

My mom cooked some fish the size of sardines in some soup. she didn't cut it or fried them...just cooked it in the soup. When I went to eat some of it i opened up the fish to find SEVERAL tiny small white balls clumbed together in the fish's stomach.
-I was just wondering...what is the tiny white balls??? fish eggs???
