Seven Pounds (starring Will Smith)

Is anyone looking forward to this?

It's not out in UK cinemas until January 19th 2009 but I couldn't control myself and ended up watching it online. Good job I did really because the movie had me on edge the entire way through, and I was in tears at the end.

I'm not exactly a Will Smith fan due to his predictable choice in movie roles (although I do own a few of his movies) so I was totally un-prepared for his new character. The movie is a mix of drama, action and intense emotion with a real message behind it. The movie begins with a flashback but the story doesn't truly unfold until the ending. I was glued to my screen the entire way through.

Is anyone else looking forward to seeing it? Did anyone do it the naughty way and watch it online?

Should be good if it's the same team that did Pusuit of Happyness. I'd like to see Will Smith in more straight drama roles (if that's what this is) - he's a great actor in these kinRAB of films.

It looks better than his usual films. I might give it a go but I think I'll still wait for the DVD rather than pay cinema prices to see it.

I also, like the OP, watched it the "naughty" way but i loved this film....so much so i cant wait for it to be released on DVD so i can get it proper.
Thing is i watched it once, and thought yeah great film but once you know the plot surely its a bit boring???.....hell NO!!!!! I have now watched it 3 times and it probably is better than the first time i saw it....you notice so much more stuff like the bit when he's telling the story (wont spoil it), now if you pay attention you'll notice he tells her who he is in the car, albeit in a very roundabout way.

I just think this film is a top 10 out of 10 film, and the sentiment behind it is beautiful and i think Mr Smith is the perfect actor for it and he should clean up at the oscars

As pathetic as it sounRAB I am really tempted to watch the last 10 minutes again because it was an amazing ending. I can't wait for the DVD and no doubt it will spend months in my DVD player.

i watched this tonight and i cried like mad, i thought i was gonna be sick i had the biggest lump in my throat.

you know what's coming and you don't want it to but you know it is and when it does bamn it hits you hard, well it did for me.

i don't think i could sit and watch that film again, not because it's rubbish but because of how much it made me cry.

not many actors get to me in sad films but will smith did, so underrated.

I watched it today, and have loved all of Will Smith movies, he was great in it as usual.
But i have to say, as much as I wanted to like it (and i honestly reeeeeeeeaaallly wanted to like it), i think this is almost as bad as Wild Wild west.

The story was ridiculously cheesy, and when he went to visit the hospital for the final time I worked out the twist. It was just soo desperately trying to be a sad story that it became ridiculously cliched.

I don't hate it, but apart from the nice cinematography and will smiths great acting, i struggle to find anything good in it. It was just boring with a really dissapointing twist.

I saw it yesterday and found it quite entertaining, although the title of the film gave it away and I am not keen on films starting with the ending.
Anyway, when Ben / Tim has a meal with Emily (?) on the final evening, he has a present in the car for her. Did I miss something but I don't remember it appearing again. Yes I know that his brother turned up and things changed after that, but it seems that this part of the story ended up on the cutting room floor.

saw this today and thought it was a lot better than i imagined it would be. i disagree with comments above saying it was cheesy - a film can be moving without being cheesy.

its had negative press for being over long and slow, but i think the reflective, thoughtful tone of the film is what ultimately make the film work, as it makes the audience really believe
that Ben would have done what he did
.

can't remember the last time i saw three such good films in a fortnight - the other two being slumdog and the reader.

I completely agree. I cried and cried, I wouldn't watch it again I don't think just becasue it was so sad.
It was brilliant though, really thought provoking and what a great twist.

I did love this film. Will's character is so vulnerable and all the people he meets in the film are really great characters with nothing snobbish or over dramatic about them.

It's a great film - but looks like Hollywood is up Meryl Streeps Butt again.
