setting up physics equations?

so my professor gave us this example and i just dont know how he set up the equations, first i thought he did if by subtracting the given coordinates but the last value never does not match my results. here is the problem.

point A = (6,7,0)
Point B = (2,8,-2)
Point C= (-3,7,5)

Origin = (0,5,0)

force (F) pointing down = 500N

so the load = -500j

now he sets up three equations where i have the only problem, i know how he gets the denominator because that is the magnitude..he gets:

sum of the F=0

1st equation = 6a/sqrt(40) + 2b/sqrt(17) - 3c/sqrt(38) = 0
2nd equation = 2a/sqrt(40) + 3b/sqrt(17) + 2c/sqrt(38) = +500
3rd equation = 0 - 2b/sqrt(17) - 5c/sqrt (38) = 0

i would really appreciate your help, thank you!
