Seth says it's time for a Family Guy big screen adventure

They're going to have to. The jerky pose-to-pose animation Family Guy has now will not hold up for an hour and a half on the big screen. That works for TV maybe and even DTVs but not the movie theater.

I can hardly stand the jerky animation in Family Guy on the small screen let-alone the big screen

The Simpsons Movie really upped their animation for the feature... let's hope the Family Guy team takes the same road.

But if Brain trys to do the deal with Lois agian its like he never learns the lesson. Lois keeps telling him she loves Peter, why? I'll never know, but she does. So Brian has to stop living in the past and move on, it will put a strain on his and Lois possible friendship.
I honestly don't know what they can do to supass what they can do in the series. I mean they've gotten away with so much in the show, its hard to imagine. The only thing I can think of is Stewie admitting he isn't straight, but how can a baby know at such a young age? Its mind bottling.

Yeah, considering the budget Fox 2000 is probably going to give them, there will have to be some more frames of animation going on...this isn't ATHF Colon Film.

You had me in agreement with every word until the use of probably. Facts: Family Guy's unique quality has gone down over the years. As a result, the show's following has acquired a type of audience previous fans avoid like the plague.

The probably part comes in the fact that the movie is only in idea stages now. If Seth wants to do something large scale I'm sure he'll deliver, with a minimum of idiot pandering. I try to avoid cynicism if I can help it, and it's also significant to note that the "fan-idiot masses" are always going to be there, no matter what the fandom or subject. They're everywhere.

I'm not expecting South Park. South Park is disgusting and lude brilliance. I watch Family Guy (old and good, along with new and much less good) because I can't always watch Futurama. I think and feel like 24/7. Once in a while I just want to watch Brian parody Marty McFly with a Rick Ashtley song (although Brian sings it way better).

There are negative things to expect, but to point them out this early seems a bit unnecessary. It's not a matter of telling naysayers not to speak. It's more about it being so obvious (except to those idiot masses of course).

I say this is good news. There should be a Family Guy movie just to have one and see what they do with it.

My consensus is that critically wise, when this is released, most critics are either going to extremely love it or extremely hate, and there will not be any middle ground. Guys like Ebert and Roeper may give it three stars for being clever and somewhat raunchy, and other critics may say it's bland, repetitive and caters to the lowest denominator. Time will tell.

Jeez, when did this become the Family Guy Hate-board? Seriously, Seth MacFaralane just says "I'd want to make a movie" and we get two pages of "it's going to suck," "90 minutes of cutaways" and other wise-ass predictions on no basis other than the stereotypical reasons that Family Guy sucks. I mean, I'm not crazy about the show, but it's not that incredibly terrible. Really, is everyone here that...angry? If you hate the show so much, why comment on a thread about the movie? (to say the same things that everyone else is, no less). Anyway.....

I'm glad someone's being positive here. Thanks DarthGonzo (you're on MuppetCentral too, right?).

I'd actually want to see a Family Guy movie. It may not be my favorite show ever, but it does make me laugh (more than I'd like to admit) and I do like it. I don't know if I'd see it in theaters, but that depends on the trailer. The movie should definitley be a musical though; they've got some great songwriters on there. :D I wonder if they'll make the animation better, like The Simpsons Movie did (though, The Simpsons was less of a stretch).
