Seth says it's time for a Family Guy big screen adventure

Cool.

The movie scares me though, I guess in a good way. He said the only reason to do a movie is to do stuff he can't get away with on the show.

The show gets away with A LOT.

I shudder at the thought of what Seth has in mind for the movie that he wouldn't be able to get away with on TV. It might end up being "South Park: Bigger, Longer, & Uncut" level obscene-ness.

Ooookayyy...

I'm sure the Family Guy movie will have a plot too. We know nothing about this movie save for the fact that Seth want to make it. So how could you even say that?

I think it'd be far worse. South Park BLU was light on the humping. Seth probably wants to make a big huge loud disturbing violent knife-fetish-filled porno with anti-semitic and anti-handicapped overtones. With the Arm-Flailing Tube Man Salesman involved in the middle.

When and if the movie gets made, it will either blow everyone away (maybe even some people who don't like Family Guy), or fall flat on its rear and pretty much mean the end of the series (like people thought the South Park movie would haved).

Okay, wait....I just watched the video now and Seth says "something we couldn't do on the show," not "something we couldn't get away with on the show." Maybe this means something really epic that couldn't be confined to twenty-one minutes or even a two-parter. Hopefully, anyway.

Not to be a wet blanket, and I admit that I've been down on FG for quite awhile now, but there is no way I'd buy a full price movie ticket to watch 90 minutes of cutaway jokes. A Family Guy story that doesn't heavily rely on them hasn't been made yet, and I don't expect it to start with this movie if it happens.

*facepalm* Oh dear god no. They're already obnoxious enough as they currently are on television right now.

An American Dad movie however I can get behind.

Exactly. We don't know any information other than the fact that Seth wants to make a movie.

As for me, I knew this was coming. Sooner or later, a FG movie would eventually be made, considering how popular the series is. I still like the show and I would like to see what Seth and co. can come up with. Whatever it is, I'm sure I'll laugh no matter what.

As for people looking down on the movie already, I remember a similar reaction when The Simpsons Movie was going into production. People thought the movie was going to be bad based on the newer seasons. Of course, once the movie came out, it turned out the opposite was true. The Simpsons writers were able to save some of the magic they had from their golden years and used it on the movie. I think a wait-and-see approach is more appropriate for this.

As for an American Dad movie, that would be cool, but its not going to happen anytime soon. It seems the show is doing well, but not FG-well. It seems to be on par with Futurama: A show with a dedicated fanbase, but not as big as its older brother.

Described by whom? Not Seth, since he really didn't say anything other that saying they're toying with the idea and that they'll do stuff they can't do on the show.

I think this should turn out pretty good. If it's a theatrical film they obviously wont do 90 minutes of cutaways. I think they'll pull off a great, coherent story. Just wait and see before tearing something apart people. Jeez.
