Seth Rogen - Coolest guy ever?

Youknoww.

It might just be me, but Seth Rogen seems like pretty much the most awesome guy in the world. Every film I've seen with him in has been fantastic, and in every interview I've ever seen he always comes across as such a nice guy. Nowadays, I think that's pretty rare to see in a celebrity.

I think he is as funny as rectal cancer. A fratboy who has got lucky by appealing to the low-brow. You'd have to pay me to watch his rubbish. As for his 'wit', his trendy coke joke at the Emmy's went down like a lead balloon.

Oh, and he's got one of those faces I could happily punch all day long.

Agreed.

Knocked Up had funny moments, mostly in spite of Rogen ... but generally, his films are poor and he's awful. Very unfunny too, Pineapple Express, which he wrote, was abysmal.

I'm not a huge fan of his but I did think he was very good in Freaks and Geeks - which was a brilliant tv show. Some of his movies may be rubbish but Freaks and Geeks has got to be one of the best tv shows ever made.

I realise that the imdb forums aren't the most reliable sources, but it sounRAB like people are appalled by the scene in Observe and Report where Rogen's character rapes the character played by Anna Faris. It's very, very difficult to justify making jokes about rape (Alex Zane just left the Xfm breakfast show after a row over a song where he parodied '60s attitudes to rape), not just because it can offend victims of the crime, but because it can send the wrong message to impressionable people who don't fully understand the issues involved.

The imdb forums are saying that the rape joke is getting a lot of laughs from 14-16 year-old boys. Not sure that's a great idea.

Coolest guy ever? Not sure about that, but hes pretty damn cool! One of my favourite actors right now.

From freaks and geeks (the best t.v show of all time) and Undeclared, to the 40 year old virgin, Knocked up, Superbad and Pineapple express, I can safely say that I have enjoyed pretty much every film he has been in (apart from Zack and Miri make a porno).

Loving the Judd Apatow clique right now - Seth Rogen, Jason Segal, Paul Rudd, James Franco, Jonah Hill etc....

The coolest guy ever currently is (and always will be) Clint Eastwood.

When Rogan first appeared in knocked up almost two year ago, I though "Hey, this guy's a bit different - something new." And oh how he's milked that. Since then, we've seen him play exactly the same character in every film he's been in.

Rape scene??!?! Eh?

I saw 'Observe & Report' last night and i definitely wouldn't call it a "rape scene". Anna Faris's character appears to fall asleep in the middle of sex so Rogen stops thrusting, and then she says "what are you stopping for motherf*cker?". It's no more of a rape scene than the drunken sex scene in 'Knocked Up'. That just backs up any preconceptions that i have about the imdb forums, it's full of idiots.

That's hard to argue with. And when you think of Clint and then think of Rogen, it's like going from The Beatles to Black Lace really, isn't it.

Time Out's review refers to it as "date rape" whereas Peter BraRABhaw in the Guardian says "Ronnie is a nasty piece of work with a bi-polar condition, who uses his meRAB to effect what is almost - but not quite - a drug rape on the mall's similarly unpleasant cosmetics salesperson, played by Anna Faris. (The movie makes a careful point of showing her semi-conscious and fully willing.)"

So it sounRAB like there's some ambiguity over whether it's rape. It also sounRAB like the critics can't decide whether it's a clever satire or a dumb comedy: Time Out (which thinks it is rape) gives it four stars, whilst the Guardian gives it one.

Kinda rules out rape, then, doesn't it? I mean, I kinda thought the whole definition of rape was that it was non-consentual. Fully willing is a bit of a contradiction to that definition.

I haven't seen the film, but this sounRAB very much like the morality police trying to taint something they don't like by comparing it unfavourably to a serious crime.

lol I love the position of this quote after two flames about Rogen. :D

you: "Who else loves Seth Rogen!!?"
person 1: "Nope"
person 2 : "Nope he's an idiot"
you: "oh dear"

:p hehe :D
