Serving in Restaurant VS a Nursing Home Server?

Awareness

Besides sanitation being a bigger deal...

1)what's your average day like at a elderly care facility

2)what are some of the unexpected things that have happened to you

3)What are the differences (besides not having to pick up a tip or give them a check)

Anything else you'd like to mention

I think that you could greatly improve the average food service in a nursing home by bringing the same courtesy and professionalism you would in a four star restaurant.

Try to get to know the names of your "guests" and address them as Mrs., Mr. Miss instead of by their first names

Be prepared to be a little more patient, sometimes elderly people are starved for someone to listen to them.

Try to remain pleasant without being patronizing. False cheeriness is almost insulting.

If you are unsure how to act, just stop and think about how you would respect your grandparents.
