I have posted this question before but as we know things change. I am about to do a full service on my Chevy form the front to the back. The mileage is 60,000. About to pull a travel trailer up to PA from LA after the thaw and want to get the truck serviced. What are you alls thought on Synthetic fluids. She's had Mobil One in her since the second change. Thanks in Advance

I've heard a lot of different opinions on oil - some people are religiously synthetic (although they generally don't seem to be the ones that are mechanically inclined).

Some only use standard oil - since they claim that synthetics don't keep parts coated well enough, and when the engine is first started it does damage.

Personally, I stick to synthetic blends. They are cheaper, and the way I figure, you should get some of the advantages of both synthetic and non-synthetic.

I might be wrong, but at the same time - I've never had an engine die from lack of proper lubrication either.
