Service error

If you do your own oil change, why not do the whole service yourself?
Do they have a set fee for the 15k service? Did you pay less than that?
About all you could ask for is $ for the Mobile 1.
If they have been OK to deal with and this is the first problem, I wouldn't stress over it. Next time change the oil after your service or maybe you could take your choice of oil in for them to use.

I've sobered up and made my decision. 8 times out of 10 in this case I'd say let it go. This time not. I'm going to call tomorrow morning and give them chance to make it right. No right or wrong to it. Just how I feel about it.

Thanks all.

Free oil and filter on your bike that is just as good as the noisy oil your about to put back in and you say you're sober now? JK...

Run the 360 and then go back to the Mobile 1 (if you just have to).
Just a note, many of us have returned back to 360 after Mobile 1 caused valve noise...

Did they charge you for the full service? If they did, you have a right to be pissed. I would be pissed anyway if I'd told them not to change it. All he had to do was make a note for the tech not to change the oil. Look at it on the bright side, your engine is getting a good flushing...LOL

I would ride it as is. HD 360 isn't gonna make your bike seize up. Lots of bikes on the road with that oil in them. Personally I use Mobil1 VTwin and if this happened to me I would live with it. Since they didn't charge you I think that's fair. It's good to keep a good relationship with your dealer, down the road you might need their help.

kinda annoying . . . still they did a 15k which is what you bought it in for. This type of thing happens when there's an exception to the standard service. I agree you're right but it's not that surprising I'm afraid. The shop ought to have tagged the bike so the tech knew.

I'd call and ask nicely for them to make it right. If they bawk, leave it alone and just ride. It's not going to hurt anything and you don't need the aggravation. They were honest and made a mistake.

Just remember one thing, ya might leave a bad taste in their mouth if ya need something in a pinch. They WERE wrong but would wipe their nose in it.

I see where you are coming from...seems hard to get anyone to do anything right nowadays unless you do it yourself (which you did)

I'm not sure what can be done other than complain to them and they acknowledge that they screwed up. Sounds like they apologized.

I understand it is a principle thing now but I agree with cdestuck...you might need them for something in a hurry and if you really rake them over the coals well.........just saying

Be interesting to see what they say as you said you were going to have them make it right. Let us know the outcome.

A good relationship with your local dealer can save you many more dollars down the road............. Some things you just have to learn yourself.
