I got the official FRF91 Froyo update and I chose "install". Came back after a while and saw the phone hung at the X boot screen which has the flying particles. I left it sit there for a while to see if it will unhang on its own. But I eventually had to unplug the battery to get it to reboot.
Once it rebooted, it showed the Android version as 2.2 FRF91. So, I'm hoping the update went thru fine. But since then, the phone has been very unstable. It's probably rebooted 20+ times today.
It generally starting stuttering before it reboots. And when it reboots, it starts rebooting from the X with flying particles and NOT from the static X. This make me think that just the userspace is crashing.
I tried the following and nothing helped:
* Factory data reset from Android.
* Recovery from the boot menu -> wipe data/factory reset
* Wipe cache partition
* Update from SD card with the FRF85 -> FRF91 update.zip.
Is anyone else seeing this? Is there a way to force a full reflash of Android 2.2? Does anyone know how to go back to 2.1? I don't want to root my phone.
