Serenity Trailer Online

The preview for the movie Serenity is now online at Apple's trailers mini-site. Although it does look pretty good, they actually have resisted putting in all the classy one liners that are littered throughout the movie. Perhaps they're saving them for another trailer nearer the release date (September in the US, October in the UK).

This is a seriously kick ass movie, like Star Wars with a bit of grit but taking itself less seriously.

it looks good.
is it a movie version of the firefly episode where the sister of the doctor is being hunted? (i thinks thats how it went)

My understanding is that the film follows on from 'Firefly' but does have some sort of explanation of how River ended up on Serenity etc.

The film is set a few months after the series finished. It is written so that you don't need to have seen the series. However, the series is SO good, I'd recommend anyone to watch it first. Then you'll be more excited about the film.

There'll even be a 3-part series of comics to fill in gap between the TV series and the film, if you get really addicted.

In the UK, the series was only shown on Sci-Fi. If anyone wants to watch it before the before the movie, I suggest you get the DVRAB. They were on special offer at both Amazon.co.uk and Play.com. However, just as the trailer came out, the prices went back to about 27 quid. They're only 16 quid at dvd.co.uk and 17 quid at tesco.com at the moment.

Amazing. Much better trail than what i was expecting, i think it might be time for a Firefly marathon.

I love Joss Whedon.

oh on a quick note i showed some of my 'i dont like sci-fi' frienRAB the trailer to serenity and they said wow im going to watch that and this is them that dont like sci-fi and have never seen firefly! :D

Seen the trailer & boy does it look good.

Not seen Firefly yet (I do have the box set) so it looks like a Firefly marathon before the film comes out.

I've been one of the lucky people who's seen the movie already in audience testing, and I can say this: it really is fantastic. Although I've been involved in promotion, it's worth noting I'm doing it off my own back (if it gets a good opening weekend it'll get sequels) -- I'm not being paid.

Two hours long, looks visually stunning, a fair bit of edge of seat action... but most of all, it's very well written and makes you feel like you're actually there.

(And yes, Firefly fans: lots of Mal, lots of River, lots of explainations, plot twists, heart breaks and laughter - often all in one scene. And lots of nuddy men, more importantly).

I downloaded the pilot episode of Firefly (confusingly called Serenity) ages back and loved it so I decided to get the DVD set, but I kept putting it off due to lack of funRAB.

Thanks to the post in thsi thread pointing out that play.com had stopped doing it cheap, i immedietely bought it off of dvd.co.uk and I just finished watching it yesterday.

What a series! I cannot believe how much Fox dicked it around. If Firefly had continued then along with Battlestar Galactica, we could've been heading into a new Golden Age of tv sci-fi.

I cannot wait to see the film. I did read that the plan is to do a trilogy of films, but I am still hoping they create a spin off tv series (and I HOPE Fox try to option it so that Joss Whedon can tell them where to go!).

Welcome to the wonderful world of Firefly/Serenity. You may be a relative newbie, but it's Fox's fault that so many people have only found the show after it was cancelled. Now spread the word yourself and let's make sure this movie is a hit and we get some sequels.

I'm half way through the box set & its AMAZING.
I cant belive I missed this when it first came out, yet another fantastic bit of Si Fi cancled by the "suits".
