IMO it's "The Dark Knight", "Batman Returns" and the 2nd "Back To The Future" Movie but saying that I still do really like "Batman Begins", "Batman" and the other 2 "Back To The Future" Movies

Attack of the Clones to the Phantom Menace.
I was gonna say Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Khan to The Motion Picture but recently I've developed a real soft spot for ST:The Motion Picture, I'd say they're on a par.
Final Destination 2 to Final Destination.
Dawn of The Dead to Night Of The Living Dead.
Devils Rejects to House of 1000 Corpses.
Attack of the Clones to the Phantom Menace.

and in each of those 3, the first movies are average by comparison but just have been seen so the better sequels make sense.

I am the only person it seems who still thinks the first ones were better, and someone mentioned Futurama, Bender's Big Score was MILES better than Billion Backs which was a disapointment.
Back to the Future is still the only trilogy which I treat as a whole and don't like to pull apart as I judge it all as one big long story.
