Just wondering..

Sept 11th will certainly go down in history..

I've heard a rumour that there is likely to be a Biography film on the world's most wanted man, OBL.

No, it won't be on Osama.

The movie will be about the people in the WTC and on the planes that crashed into it. It will be a kind of ''action'' movie, (that sounRAB wrong, but I dont mean it that way), that will show their bravery when they knew they were going to die type thing.

It wont be a type of biography, it will be more a praise movie showing the heroics of that day, from the police officers and firefighters, to the people on the planes that tried to stop the Afghanistanians from carrying out their plan.

Apparently (Maybe a vicious rumour I heard) but the rights to film were sold on September 12th... for $1 million... don't know who had them to sell or who bought them but time will tell... and Hollywood being Hollywood they will make a film (Probably several, look at what effect the Titanic had on the movie industry)

God i can just imagine the tagline
"Arnold Schwartznegger/Sylvester Stallone/Chuck Norris/any other movie invincible psycho, plays Joe Public,a former special ops member now with an office job in the WTC.Hes showing his young wife and daughter around the building when BANG[Cue a cataclysmic explosion scene].Now,Joe must return to the hills of Afghanistan where he drove out the soviets to drive out an even mnore terrible enemy"
Cue a film where the hero kils 500,000 enemies, saves a village full of innocents, and survives with nothing more than a few scratches to his muscled shoulders.
Im sure im right on every part of this.Check this post when the film is released:p :p

Listening to an interview on Radio 5 with a "movie expert" in Hollywood who was saying that there has been talk but it won't be for a while yet. Any film would must likely not be an action film, or focus on the plot or the actual impact but on the rescue attempt.

Whilst in Waterstones I noticed a few books about 9/11 and one in particular I could imagine being made into a film - the book is called "Last Man Down" and the story of one of the firefighters and the efforts to rescue as many people as they could.

Well there have been films made about many disasters and hijackings. That one about the cruise ship that was hijacked, the one on the commercial aircraft, then you have Titanic, then there is that one on the Hindleberg, and there is one on a building that set on fire in the 80's. I can see one coming, but not quite yet.

There is a bio on OBl on Biography
I've seen it, but it was made B4 9/11 despite the fact that it was shown afetr 9/11.

It said nothing on September 11th and its pretty obvious that they wouldnt ignore that event.

Well there has also been a documentary on Discovery about how/why the towers collapsed - I think it's being rerun this week, very interesting, specially about the guy who designed them who used to be able to see them from his office and now he overlooks Ground Zero!

Gopher, you should copyrigh tthat script outline, it could make you a mint!

It would the funny (the plot outline not the real thing) if it wasnt so very possible tp happen!

The actual event lasted less than a feature length film though didnt it? only a couple of hours. they'd really have to play it all up as I'm sure (although horrific) the action inside the building would not have been majorly interesting. i dont mean this disrespectfully at all, but I think that it was just everyone trying to get out and firefighters trying to save people. I dont see how they'd fill 1 and a half hours of film with action from inside the WTCs. I guess I'll just have to wait and see how they'll do it

i think it will basically be the same format as titanic

Introduce characters (Jack and Rose) - Introduce characters (couple/group of people etc)

One of them goes in there that shouldnt be there (jack)

A while before anything happens

Impact (plane/iceburg)

Couple of hours trying to get people out, (inc, the heroes etc)

The sinking/the falling of the towers

Aftermath and survivors

I dont know if it will work so close after the actual event. Also, it might be seen as distasteful and insensitive. After all films are meant to be entertainment, and people might not see it that way. You have to remember that Titanic was made about 80 years after the event

But other films were not, there was "A Night to remember" , 1950's i think that one was made, but do not quote me! and i believe there were ones before that too.

It would be filled with the situations people were finding them selfs in, trapped, being grabbed into lifts, the whole panic, just like on the Titanic film.

I heard that the film will be about a couple. One of them works in WTC & the wife doesn't. Meg Ryan would probably star. Heard that a long time ago though and details quite sketchy. Shouldn't be one anyway as not too many people would go see it quite yet!
