question for you do it yourself s.e.p.s.t tuners out there .
got my tuner and cables .disc and everything ready to go .learning curve for this tuner is kinda high .so could some one help get me started with a canned map from the cd.was looking to start with the 205td004.am i correct with this as a starting point? and what exactly does this do to the ecm as far as timing and fuel.

bike is a 2009 streetglide

stock headpipe ,reinhart slipons
heavy breather
stock cams,pistons etc

i thik once i get through the initial flash and get a little more comfortable with things i'll be ok.
 
OP.......I recently find myself looking for the same type of answer. I am beginning to think SEPST is the domain of dyno shops/tuners and out of my reach anyway to utilize.

If you found a source that leads you to believe otherwise I would love to know about it also.
 
Just pick the one that is close to your build. Its really not hard to use, however I have to retrain myself every time I hook it up. Just take your time, read the manual, follow the directions and you will be just fine, Sorry I can't help more but its been a while since I did mine.
 
thanks .i'll probably get it tuned professionally at some point .but the more i learn the better it will be for me .the bike only has slip-ons and air cleaner at this point so if i get used to loading maps and smart tuning i should be able to get a decent running bike.in the event i can't find a good dyno operator.
 
Sent you a PM... I have a map I got from Mike at Latus Motors that is for the Rinehart slip ons.. Got it for my 09 with the Bub slip ons to get me close to start with. Can probably help you out.
 
Read the user's manual, read it again, read it again, play around in the software a little as you go to familiarize yourself. It's a rather steep learning curve, depending on your knowledge of tuning, wrenching, and familiarity with the PC. Took me a while, but follow the Help section instructions as well. Pick out the closest map, connect your bike, turn on the ignition and run switch, verify connected, select the map from the top drop down field, check the reset adaptive fuel box, and click reflash. The software will show download bar, the ECM will reflash, you'll hear the fuel pump (like when turning the bike on to ride), and once the re-flash is complete, disconnect as directed by the instructions on screen.
