I recently bought 2 hamsters. They told me that the two were "brothers", a few days later we found out that one of them is a female so we separated them immediately. She's not pregnant and she has remained gentle and friendly like they both were before. But the male has become very aggressive and jumpy ever since we separated them.
My question is, is this normal? I would assume there could be many reasons as to why, but is there anyway to calm him down? I know to hand tame them and give them space and time, which we have been doing and like I said, the female has been doing wonderful. Please help, it's getting to the point where I don't even want to try and touch or hold him anymore!
