Sometime when I was a young adult I lost my sense of smell. Typically I have ZERO sense of smell, feed lot, smashed bottle of cheap perfume nothing, vulture vomit, doesn't register. BUT if I get a very bad cold/flu then after I recover I can smell full force for a few weeks. For example I realized some rubber-maid totes at work were new because they had that new plastic smell. Then sadly over a couple of days it pitters out. I mentioned to my doctor once and he wasn't very helpful. He just said, "Sometimes that happens after a bad virus. No idea why it would come back tough." Does anyone have any insight as to what could be going on?
Sense of smell gone, but comes back for a while after I'm sick?
