The story is set in Shanghai in 1931, when the Imperial Japanese Army has been dispatched to mainland China due to the relatively recent First Sino-Japanese War, Russo-Japanese War, and World War I. In this cosmopolitan city of intrigue, there is a special military spy organization called "Sakurai Kikan" that has since been buried in history.

This show looks great cant wait to see it when it comes out.
 
I like the plot line and the way the characters look and how the girl in it is dressed at least of how she is in that picture.
 
Yeah its set in 1931, spaced out there for a second cause I was looking at what the jp site said. Google translater isnt very good, bing is alright though.
It will be cool to see how the spy aspect plays out.
 
Not just the girl all of the characters clothes need to fit the time period.
She's a spy so I imagine she changes her atire acording to the mission.
She will probaly play more of a distraction role, based on her looks.XD
 
Episode 01

Interesting, it's like a WWII era X-Men anime...seems pretty good, i liked the first mission they had. Something like this i could see being a movie.
 
Yeah, it was interesting. The first episode felt kind of like a sampler, to introduce the characters and their abilities, so I hope a meaningful storyline develops in time. The abilities themselves seem pretty standard, with the exception of the guy with the supernatural eyesight. The setting is what should makes this series different. Also, there was some foreshadowing regarding the past of at least one meraber, so we'll probably get some back-story episodes.

It's hard to tell from an introductory episode, but Senko No Night Raid seems promising.
 
Oh ho? There is a thread to this show, I thought I would have to make one.

This show does seem interesting. For an introduction episode, it was very good and very entertaining, they covered everything in the episode (beside their powers and where they come from) in about 23 minutes. I'm hoping the true storyline to this show branches off from what we saw.

Like any other shows in this season, I have high hopes for a lot of shows. Senko no Night Raid is high on the list of "hopeful animes of 2010".
 
I can't help but feel like I've seen a manga with similar character designs somewhere before.

Aside from that, I was quite entertained with the first episode. Most especially because the voice actors seem to actually speak Chinese fluently. It was a bit hard to follow at moments, but it's really well done. Watching it for it's historical charm.

(for me it kinda feels more like Mission Impossible)
 
The first episode kinda reminded me of Darker than Black as far as their abilities go, it was very interesting and the teleport ability right at then end was sweet, hopefully we will get some great missions in this series.
 
I wish the episodes were getting subbed faster, but I can still try to wait it out. lol

The character designs are a plus for me and I like their powers. I just wish they didn't have a time limit for however long they can use their abilities.
