Sending Ringtones

eyes of heart

Trying to send ringtones to my phone. I send a message from either my Gmail or Hotmail account, to an email address that's my 10 digit phone number plus @vzwpix.com, but it doesn't work. I get the following message:

MMSC NDR Administrator:

Message could not be delivered to mobile.
Error: No valid recipients for this MM

To make sure it was the right address, I took a random picture, and sent that to my email account from my phone, and my email got it fine. I then responded to that exact email, and within 5 seconds I get the same error message. I try attaching pictures, random text, and a title along with it, but nothing helps.

As an alternate, I tried throwing the ringtones in both the my_sounds and my_music folders on my microSD card, and even though my phone recognized it, and can transfer them over to phone memory, I still can't use them as ringtones.

Can someone please help me and tell me either what I'm doing wrong, or just another method on how to send a ringtone to my phone?

Ah yes, the VZWPix gateway. It's flaky, especially for sending sound.

The two better options are:

1. Going to www.vzwpix.com in a web browser and sending that way.

2. (Preferred) Using BitPim to send the sound to your phone. You'll need either Bluetooth or a USB cable, but the quality will be much better.

Which cellphone do you have, ctg867? Bitpim is a good program, but it doesn't work with all phones. I used to use bitpim with my LG VX8600, but with my Z6tv, I use Motorola Software Update (MSU) and P2kCommander (P2K), both free downloads. If your phone is a Motorola, you will want to try MSU and P2K.

What kind of phone do you have?

If you are able to receive picture and video messages, this will work for you. Go to magix.com and download the free download of Magix Ringtone Maker
3. You can create any ringtone from any music you have. Once you have created a ringtone, at the bottom of the program click on "destination" and then "mp3 audio format". Click "export". A pop up window will show and click ok.
No go to your e-mail and type in your number @vzwpix.com. Attach the file and you should be fine. It will show up to your phone as a picture/audio message. Open the message and the ringtone will begin to play. Click "options" and then "save as ringtone". This is the way I do it with my LG env2. I hope this helps.
