The market doesn't decide anything anymore because it's manipulated to the point of extremes. If anything we've learned from the economic disaster of the last few years, this is probably the most important. We're not living in a fair market, free trade system composed of ethical businesses acting responsibly in the interest of their shareholders. If this was the case, we would probably be fine. We have a system that is out of control, partially because the governments are also on the take and haven't been doing their job enforcing the minimum regulations needed to bring balance to the system. You can't simply let corporations do whatever the hell they want, but you can't let the government handicap what they need to do in order to make a fair profit.

seriously, it doesnt even say what they are going to use the money for other than give it to undeserving lazy fuckheads who mooch off the dole

Any time I call a company and have to talk to "bob" with a very heavy indian accent, the first thing I say is "I would like to speak to an American."

They usually transfer me back to the states right away.

We outspent and outlasted the Soviets. We didn't buy them out. They couldn't keep up with our military and industrial capacity, and the were inefficient at distributing their resources because they were so heavily dependent on their central government. Being "at war" with them over the last 50 years is what brought this country to power and created much of the technology we use today. It also gave us a common enemy, but I also believe that the people of that generation (our grandparents) were more responsible and had a better sense of duty to ones country than those of the baby boomers and younger.

this is retarded feel-good legislation. i'm glad our tax dollars are focused on such an important issue

lol who ever said the free market was fair?

and its always been manipulated...

and i agree with not letting corporations run free (in terms of pollution, barriers to entry, and systemic risk)
but other than that we shouldnt give a fuck.

you keep saying the word "fair" and you will need to start preaching something other than capitalism

and dont get free markets confused with competitive free markets.
they arent always the same thing (rarely are)

i disagree with the majority of this post
but it isnt going to do much good to argue with this

He also wants to track pre paid cell phones because drug dealers and other criminals use them

Fuck Schumer

there isn't much to disagree with. You said being at war with communism got us nowhere. It got us some of the most important military and industrial advances of the last century. Shit the very technology you are using right now comes right out of the cold war. By the time the 80s rolled in, the handwriting was already on the wall for Warsaw pact nations. One by one they abandoned their system of government for one most like those of western Europe, not because we sent them aid, or allowed them to, but because they knew they were on the verge of total collapse.

thats bullshit. There is and has always been the ability to run business ethically and to strike a balance between fair wages and good returns to the investors and executives who run the business. The problems start when one or the other gets greedy and unreasonable. This unfortunately is a constant problem, because people still have not progressed far enough to control that side of human nature.

hay guys i hate corporations that provide products and services that the poor can afford

they should be forced to hire americans do those jobs so the poor can no longer afford the luxuries they provide

You're well known as a scheming jew mexican on OT so this post in no way surprises me.
