Allstate is the worst company I have ever had to deal with. I dropped them after 2 weeks. Do yourself a favor and find someone better before you get screwdd
It is established fact and has been well known for a few hundred years and even Adam Smith commented on it in The Wealth of Nations published in 1776.
It is like I'm living in crazy world with bubble people who can't pull their heads out of their asses and stop recycling the trite arguments of the middle ages.
we're going to put a tax on skilled labor that is bringing people up out of poverty in another country to look like we care about unskilled labor in here
This. Grasshopper.com that handles my PBX system has all US based customer service and tech support. I had some problems when I first got set up and if I had to deal with foreigners that I had trouble understanding I definitely would have just cancelled the service and moved on to a competitor instead.
you could make an argument that the pendulum swings too far each way.
for an example, if a company outsources too many jobs and it hurts customer service to the point of losing revenue...it was a bad move.
but imo the market should decide that....not governments.
Dont get me wrong, im not the person that says capitalism is the answer to everything. I just dont like the idea of protectionism
the average unskilled call center person costs $15 an hour to employ
in india even if they cost $5 an hour to employ they'd have to do 40 calls an hour before they were similar in cost.
this is nothing but a tax to recoup lost income taxes to make shitty unskilled call center people in the us feel like someone cares specifically about them
How is it a stupid idea to encourage companies to keep jobs in the country they do business in? You do realize that all those people that "could" have jobs in the US doing those jobs would be paying taxes, the companies would also be remitting more taxes etc... There might be a slight imbalance for cost to employ people here but that could be partially offset by government tax incentives for hiring here.
except other countries are and already have been "retaliating" against the US, by imposing tariffs, demanding trade agreements that are far out of balance with the US, and insisting on foreign aid and payments from our government.
